Fighting to prevent individuals being trafficked and sold into slavery.
STN Trust is working locally, regionally and nationally to abolish slavery. At STN Trust we recognise that modern slavery is only possible when those who are vulnerable in our communities are not protected. We are committed to fighting to prevent individuals being trafficked and sold into slavery as well as caring for those who have through our mentoring and befriending scheme.
We initiated and lead the Norfolk Modern Slavery Collaboration. Drawing agencies together to provide better care for those rescued from slavery as well as providing a united response in abolishing slavery in Norfolk.
We were invited to be part of the Government’s review of the Modern Slavery Act in 2018.
Through training, events and campaigns we work to raise awareness in our community in order to equip people to be able to spot the signs of someone being held in slavery as well as working together to protect those who are vulnerable.
We have written a small group study ‘Breaking Chains’ for church small groups. The study considers the theological response to abolishing slavery, giving practical ways in which members of the church can join the fight against slavery.
Modern slavery is not just a local issue. To bring an end to slavery we have to be committed to fighting it globally.
